Initially I worked in the theatre as
a sound and lighting technician, as well as a set and
props builder.
After three years, I began mural painting and artistic
decoration, which led to decorating furniture, and naturally
furniture design and cabinetry. By good fortune, I then
received the opportunity to train in Pittsburgh with
Tadao Arimoto, a highly renowned Japanese cabinetmaker.
For I while I worked in Belfast restoring and building
furniture from reclaimed timber and also studying furniture
design until moving back to Scotland in 1997.
In 1999 I decided to rent bench space at Gogar Cabinetworks,
& finally Chris and I decided to bring our varied
skills together in partnership. |
